Website Partnerships

and other types of client relationships

Every now and then something comes along that makes us want to get involved. Such a case happened early in 2006 when friends of ours in Mexico wanted to launch a website. Scott and Dani are a young couple with lots of energy and plenty of ambition. Scott grew up in the little town of Akumal, on Mexico's Riviera Maya. Dani is from Illinois and first came to Akumal as a scientific intern with Centro Ecologico Akumal. Long story short, Scott and Dani got together (eventually marrying) and started careers as serial entrepreneurs.

As our work takes us to Akumal on a fairly regular basis, not to mention Lydia's volunteer duties with CEA and Vidas. We first met Scott and Dani while on R & R in the little fishing village of Xcalak, just above the Belize border. They had recently moved to Xcalak with another couple to start a dive shop (some of the very best diving in the Hemisphere). Fast forward a couple of years and Scott and Dani have moved back to Akumal and started a tourist newspaper called Sac-Be. It is a couple of years into this venture that they began to explore online applications for their publishing enterprise.

Sac-be the website was launched in the fall of 2006. It's goal is to be the definitive online resource for people visiting the Riviera Maya (south of Cancun to Tulum) and the Costa Maya (south of Tulum to Xcalak). The website was designed by Dani and Scott and developed and managed by Just Imagine. We formed a separate company to own the site.

This is an example of an online partnership.

Other Forms of Involvement

Just Imagine has also developed relationships with clients whereby some of our income is generated through commissions. An example is Lake Champlain Vacations. Just Imagine developed, manages and markets the website and in return gets a commission on rentals generated from it.
